More office dresses

Face it, 5 days out of 7 u have to see the same bunch of people for approx 8 hours a day. Such is the life of the OL that the challenge lies in refreshing that wardrobe on multiple constraints.

So, here is another staple for the OL look. Another purchase from myer: this tokito dress retails for $80 but was bought during the 25% off sale.

Skinny jeans + first iPhone posting

So blogger has an iPhone app?!?! This is too exciting in itself!!!

But more exciting is today's acquirement of the much anticipated skinny jeans. The reasons being 1) I don't have and really want a pair and 2) I've actually outgrown my old "fave pair" of bootleg jeans. So here it is! Purchased at myer, brand is guess, and size is, wait for it! One smaller than usual!!! Yay!!!

Free Pink Tote!

It's VS again, and this time, most of the purchases are basics (nudes, blacks, strapless) and not quite worth blogging about. Altho free with a set of 2 for $32 basic bras came this cute pink tote! And I must say it's definitely the favourite buy out of this lot :)

Proud to be Asian

Now being Chinese Australian have its perks...you speak the language of more people in this world than you really care to count for one.

And for another? Not only do you get to eat some of the most ridiculously bizaar foods in this world, without batting an eyelash at the concept of (other people) having frogs for breakfast and monkey brain for dinner, you get to put them on your face too!

A colleague brough for me a bunch of Skin Food masks from a recent trip to HK. The brand, Skin Food, is a Korean born company who stands by the motto of "Delicious Cosmetics Made of Delicious Foods"

Here are some of the "flavours" that will soon be making its way onto my face:

Myer shopping trip

A grocery run with mom turned into a 2hr Myer shopping trip instead. Sis bought a plain black t-shirt and a plain lilac t-shirt for $35 (SALE! We say, but $35 for t-shirts? Mom was horrified, citing "I can make these myself for $5!!!" such typicality for an Asian parent~~~)

As for me, the purchase decision came down to the following 2 dresses. I ended up only purchasing 1 of the 2. Any guesses which one I ended up picking? :p

Tokito
$63 after 30% off clearance discount
great for day/night wear
not so great for the office
had a cute back strap

Tokit
$89.95 new 2011 stock no discount
great for office
also suitable for evening wear
pink pink pink! <3

Stockings doth make thee sexier

I'm not sure when, but I think it was last year on a trip to Shanghai, when I fell head-over-heels in love with stockings. Or, more specifically, patterned stockings.

Before that, I'm more or less a non-stockings person. I remember in high school, even in the dead of Winter (and back then Winters in Sydney were still cold since global warming hasn't hit as hard), I would wear my school uniform skirt with no stockings and the standard white socks + black shoes (a definite fashion faux pas out of the school yard I must say!)

But since last year, I've discovered stockings to be the best piece of accessory to colour up a plain outfit. Not only that, the right pair of stockings can take your prettiest shoes to a whole new level. AND make your legs look a whole lot skinnier.

Vintage skirts, yes or no?

Gran came back from a trip to Beijing on the weekend...and besides getting me a gorgeous Coach bag (to be blogged later), bought me this very vintage skirt.

It's totally not my style to wear a) patterns like this, b) skirts of this length and c) skirts of this style (elastic waistebands and semi flowy from the bottom). But to make Gran happy, I wore it the entire day on Saturday (my sister called it major suck-up, I just think it's good EQ!).

And you know what? Said dress has really grown on me! I mean, paired with a really really simple, single coloured top, it not only looks quite nice, but is super comfy too. Not only that, a shopping trip to Myer brought forth the following conversation:
Me: omg I like this jacket! (picks up a purple suit jacket from Tokito)
Sis: omg Gran has one JUST LIKE IT~~~

Maybe (just maybe), I should go to Gran for some future fashion inspirations :)

Dilemma Dilemma!!!

So I bought this bikini from Victoria's Secret. It was in the sales and specials section (yay!) and I bought it at the same time as ordering (vast amounts of) swimwear for a friend's b'day.

The dilemma? Ok this is going to sound quite stupid of me now, but I bought the top of this bikini and forgot to order the bottom...and now...it's no longer available as it was a clearance item!!!

Now how dumb can a girl get >_<

The top part is still extremely pretty though...and it does look ok with a black bottom~ hmmm...guess I will just have to mix & match~

Ankle Boots sale season

On a pre-HSC spree with little sis, at the Wittner 80% off sale...she came across this little gem...a pair of ankle boots very similar to the ones she had been wanting...but with 80% taken off the RRP of $160. Hopefully these shoes will not only make her happy for now, look hot for later, but also motivate her during the Maths HSC exam on Monday ^_^

Go sis Go!

Miraculous Cleavage - Yes it's Victoria's Secret again!

It's quite understandable why not many men can get past Miranda Kerr's super hot body, gorgeous face and...oh wait...pretty sure most of them are probably staring at something else :p

Here's a random purchase from the gorgeous VS collection while picking out swimwear for a certain friend's birthday (seriously, if said friend is reading this blog...u have waaaay too much swimwear!)

The Miraculous Bra® Miraculous® Push-up

The Miraculous Bra® Push-up Special padding lifts you up and out, instantly adding up to two full cup Sizes for maximum cleavage and fullness. Can be worn halter or cross-back. Padded for maximum lift. Underwire cups. Imported nylon/spandex.polyester/spandex.

Embellished Lace: USD$64

Cute heels not-so-new

Have been prancing around the office for almost an hour today getting compliments for these shoes, so thought I'd take a quick photo (on my desk, of all places) and blog about it.

It's a size 7 and slightly too big for me, which means the shoes are pretty much confined within the office surrounds as they tend to fall off when I walk on the street.

But for $25 I would say this pair of lady-like heels are well worth the investment!

OMG Oh-so-cute pink jacket!

This would DEFINITELY be one of those I just have to have it but will never wear it items.

At RRP$169 (USD) I'd say it's almost a bargain right? RIGHT??? <3

Random buys

Walked through Myer on the weekend and just couldn't get out without leaving a piece of my credit card behind, tiny as it was :p

Bought a huge 'tester' pack which included a whole bunch of skincare from various brands stocked at Myer, some of which include the below (except the Calvin Klein moisturiser, which was a belated b'day gift).

Looking forward to trying the Burt's Bees stuff!!!

Cute & Sexy

A dress that promotes doll-like cuteness AND accentuates the "career line", I mean cleavage!

Myer definitely got it right with this new line for the Summer season :)

Indulgent purchase of the month:

Peter Alexander Time

Speaking of super nice, super cute and super on sale dress, the same DFO trip also brought me this cute little Peter Alexander Chiffon dress. The price tag was less than a 1/3 of its $69 RRP tag :)

Not QUITE sure if the dress is better for going out or going to bed tho :p

Dotti - Julia Pleated Bustier Dress

Apparently pleats are back this season, so here's a dress that promotes some serious pleating, and claims to make one "bustier", and is an awesome pretty purple (not the purple cocktail dress I have been seeking, but a girl can never have too many dresses right!?).

The mega fun bit? While it retails at $99 from Dotti, Angie got it from DFO for a mere $5.

That's right! FIVE BUCKS!!! Hahah...

Oh-so-hot shoes

Found this little gem on a shopping trip to DFO (in fact it was the ONLY thing I bought).

Lipstick ankle boots with hot red laces (might change those laces to tone it down a bit though!), and the best thing about it? The price tag...at $15!

Bandage Dresses

So the bandage dress has long been made famous by the likes of Jennifer Anistan and Kim Kardashian.

So I decided to see for myself whether it really is the "miracle body worker" it's advertised to be. Dotti had the below cute number for $29.95~ the verdict? It looked cute, but what normal person can spend an entire day with their guts sucked in in one of these??? >_<

So it's decided, until I get ab-tastic abs like Jessica Alba, no bandage dresses!

Tiffany's are a girl's best friend

Have been uber sad since I lost my Tiffany & Co. necklace from my 21st B'day...so was uber uber happy when sis gave me a replacement necklace for my...wait for it...27th last night.

Does the box just make you happy?

Here are a few bridesmaid dresses we've been trying on.

The preferred ones atm are the Review ones below. But anticipating lots of dress trials coming up!

Double Eyelid Tape

And just in case my new-found beauty tool doesn't work, I can always go back to my trusty little double eyelid tape. Purchased on Ebay in the same transaction for $1.19 including postage!

Double eyelid Clipper

Have never tried using this before, and thought I'd give it a go!

Double eyelids have always been a sore point of lacking-ness for us Asians, so we've come up with all kinds of ways to overcome that and achieve that "double eyelid look".

Would be awesome if this thing works and I no longer have to wear double eyelid tape! hehe...

Saw one of these at the shops in Sydney for $10, hello Ebay! $1 including postage :)

Oroton Grassett

Since we're on the topic of Oroton. DFO in Homebush is currently on sale, and the below bag is of interest! It's leather, and can be carried as a shoulder bag OR a tote~ PLUS more than 30% off RRP~

New Travel Wallet Discovery

This one is the Oroton Vintage Weekend Travel Wallet. Not as out there as the Mimco one, but one figures...a travel wallet needs to serve its purpose right? If you have a giant metal "Mimco" badge at the front it's probably gonna get in the way.

This version is alot more subtle, still leather quality, and has a detach-able passport holder. It's the same price as the Mimco at $195, but I'm pretty much sold on the design!

When the dollar goes down, the Aussies go spending!

Having just made an order in excess of $600 on Victoria's Secret (shared between numerous friends, let me just clarify!), I log onto the website the following day to see this deal:

Ends Sunday! (that would be Sunday 15th May, US time)
Free Beach Towel (a $24.50 value) with $75 Purchase

Now this is just too pretty to pass up! And I've always needed a new beach towel - so, a pink striped, Victoria's Secret bombshell beach towel sounds like the perfect remedy to my...um...towel needs.

$150 of purchases (this time, JUST for me!) later, the towel, and about 3 year's worth of lingerie, is mine! All mine!!! Counting the days till the orders arrive now~~~

Simple is best

The arrival of a new season always calls for a wardrobe analysis and, in most cases, a painful relationship with your credit card balance.

However, the magic words "mid-season sale" almost always makes it alot less painful. So having come off the Myer sales with 1 gorgeous Miss Shop dress ($80 down to $30) and 1 pair of black shots ($80 down to $15!) - I'll see you next Spring!!! - here we are looking at the Betts mid-season shoe sale and, needless to say, it's time for some "essentials" to be added to the collection.

Shortlisted are:

Betts Airflex - Nuke
Black/Patent
Main material: Leather
RRP: $129.99

Betts ankle boots - Taplow
Black
Main material: Suede
RRP: $79.99

Betts knee-high boots - Delight
Black
Main material: Suede
RRP: $119.99

Now the question is: 1, 2 or all of these? All are over 50% off at the moment on Betts website <3

NOVO - Sawyer Boots

Ankle boots are apparently the thing to wear this coming Winter, so here's my weekend endulgence:

Sawyer Ankle Boots - NOVO
$79.95

Now I just gotta figure out what goes with it!

Seventy-two Changes

My fashion obsession of the week is pop diva Jolin Tsai's 2011 Spring collection for her US fashion line Seventy-two Changes.

Her stuff are edgy but totally wearable...but...um...slightly inaccessible to her Aussie fans! Looking forward to my next trip to Shanghai so I can finally check out her store <3

Car seat covers - FINALLY!

Cute much?

Snapped this up on Ebay for $59, 10pc car seat cover for front and back. I simply couldn't find one in real stores that does front, back, is black, has a tiny bit of pink, matches my wheel cover and has a separate head piece for at least the 2 front seats...seriously it's not like I was asking for much! ;p

LV's Azur

Louis Vuitton's Damier Azur Canvas bags are officially on my most d'zired list for this year!

I'd probably want to choose between these 2, the Totally or the Stresa. But the question of course is...do I really really REALLY need another WHITE bag??? Considering I currently own 0 black bags...this should probably sit on the back burner for a while.
